The culture of Kerala reflects Aryan and Dravidian effect, along with
some foreign clans. With a due importance to tradition, feasts and
customs, Keralites like to live a simple life. On visiting any part of
Kerala, the males are found wearing simple “Dhoti” and shirt; whereas
the females are clad in bordered cotton saris and suits.
These traditional clothes are known as “Mundu” and “Neriyathu”. Apart
from this, Kerala is world famous for its dance forms – Kathakali,
Bharat Natyam and Mohiniyattam. They showcase delicate moments with
keen focus on the facial expressions. On the other hand, Keralites are
also known for their famous martial arts form – Kalaripayattu.
Another thing that can be seen at Kerala is a mixed bag of religions
prevailing. With major religion as Hinduism, one can also find a lot
of Muslims and Christians. The mother tongue of Keralites is
“Malayalam” and they are referred to as “Malyalees”. These people are
quite inclined towards worship and do the “Pooja” with complete
rituals.
In doing so, they make use of drums and long pipe-shaped trumpets. The
proof of devotion is seen in the forms of various temples built in
entire Kerala. The popularity of Kerala does not stop here. It
welcomes every tourist with heartiest greetings and takes care of
their needs. In fact, they introduce the tourists to come in contact
with their traditions, customs and practices. After all, it is the
best thing to make others feel the aroma of liveliness in the state.
